AIIAB COMITTEES
The success of our association depends greatly on our members, sponsor and the participation in not just our board and event but also out committees. The committee contribute valuable input on the direction of the association, events and more.
Are you passionate about insurance and Alaska? AIIAB is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our committees. We are specifically seeking individuals to help us reach our association goals, provide outstanding education and events to our members. Our committees meet monthly and the average monthly hourly commitment is about 2-4 hours.

Current Committees
- Education Committee – The committee focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs. Its primary goal is to ensure that the organization’s educational offerings—whether for staff, members, or the public—are high-quality, relevant, and aligned with the mission
- Finance Committee – The committee provides essential financial oversight and strategic guidance to ensure the organization remains sustainable and mission-aligned. It acts as a specialized advisory body that translates complex financial data into actionable insights for the full board of directors.
- Legislative Committee – The Committee acts as the organization’s primary voice and “watchdog” in the political arena. Its purpose is to monitor, analyze, and influence legislation and regulations that impact the insurance industry within Alaska.
- Convention Committee – This committee is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of the organization’s largest annual gathering. Its primary goal is to deliver a high-quality event that provides value to members, generates revenue, and reinforces the association’s mission. This is the association’s most important revenue-generating and networking event.
- Golf Committee – The committee is a task-oriented group responsible for planning and executing the association’s annual golf tournament. While it may seem purely social, this committee manages one of the association’s revenue-generating and networking events of the year.
- Young Agents/Professional Committee – This committee is designed to engage the next generation of industry leaders. Its primary goal is to provide a “home” within the larger association for individuals who are early in their careers, ensuring the association remains relevant as the workforce evolves. Curating networking events, education and workshops on topics relevant to early-career growth.
